Entertainment

Films - KSA recently completed the unit for Spinning into Butter starring Sarah Jessica Parker and the national release of The Aryan Couple starring Martin Landau. Other films include Ladies in Lavender (Roadside Attractions), starring Maggie Smith and Judi Dench, as well as the Tribeca File Festival release of Aurora Borealis, starring Joshua Jackson, Donald Sutherland, Juliette Lewis, and Louise Fletcher.  We have worked on releases, units, special promotions and festival campaigns for a number of studio and independent films, including:  The Emperor's Club (Universal Pictures), The Big Kahuna (Lions Gate Films), Coming Soon (Unipix Films), Rough Magic (Rysher Entertainment), Macbeth in Manhattan (Plus Films),  Broadway Damage (Village Art Pictures) and Jeffrey (Orion), among others.

Focus Features - We worked on elements of the campaigns for numerous releases including: The Pianist (2003 Academy Award winner), Far From Heaven, Robert Altman's Gosford Park, Mike Leigh's Topsy-Turvy, Nurse Betty, Being John Malkovitch, Stanley Tucci's Joe Gould's Secret, Up at the Villa, Where the Money Is (Paul Newman), Angelica Houston's Agnes Browne, Condo Painting and Lars von Trier's The Idiots.

Tony Awards - KSA represented the Tonys, Broadway's most prestigious honor for 18 years.  Our mandate has been to maximize positive coverage of the Tony Awards and increase television tune-in.  Our responsibilities included managing all public relations aspects of the Tony Awards, coordinating with the Broadway press offices and working closely with CBS.  We arranged news announcements, ran official press events, credentialed media for the backstage press room during the telecast and the red carpet arrivals.  Our crisis intervention skills were used on a regular basis.

Theatrical productions - Current productions include Jewtopia, at the Westside Theatre, Moscow Cats Theatre at the Lamb's, the Cherry Lane Theatre and The Pan Asian Reperatory Theatre.  Upcoming shows include The Property Known as Garland starring Adrienne Barbeau at the  Actors Playhouse and the upcoming Broadway productions of Secret Order and Palm Beach.  Long term current clients include 13 years representing Chicago City Limits and 20 years with the York Theatre Company.

Television productions - KSA represented the PBS broadcast of Broadway's Lost Treasures in 2003, 2004 and 2005.  For BRAVO, we launched The It Factor's series and ran a number of special events.  We were retained by Bristol-Meyers Squibb to promote A&E Network's special Stop the World, I Want To Get Off.  The San Francisco PBS station, KQED, retained us to promote two specials, The Fillmore, and Stephen Sondheim's Sweeny Todd starring Patti LuPone.  This is in addition to the sports special listed below.

Sony Music - We represented CD campaigns for Tony and Grammy Award winning composer Cy Coleman and author / singer Ronan Tynan.

Savannah Onstage - We were retained by this Georgia-based international arts festival to promote its 12th annual festival.  Our efforts generated the most local and national coverage in the Festival's history.

Corporate / Lifestyles

The New York Times - KSA is in its third year publicizing several major events: the Arts & Leisure Weekend and the Travel Show at the Javits Center. In addition, KSA helped with the launch of the new section SundayBusiness and Arthur Sulzberger Jr.'s August 2004 New York City celebration event at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

The Onion - We were retained by The Onion to publicize its weekly paper, website and book, Our Dumb Century, which within three weeks hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and remained on the list for four months.  Our efforts resulted in major features in The New Yorker, Los Angeles Times, Wired, Newsweek, Time Out New York, The New York Times, AP and more.

NYANA - Our efforts resulted in positive full front-page news coverage several times for this important charity that aids immigrants in the U.S.  We developed a PR program that gave enormous visibility to this organization not only in the U.S. but also in print and broadcast coverage in Europe, the Far East and South America.

Magic Hat Brewery - The South Burlington, Vermont brewery retained us for its first-ever public relations campaign.  The relationship was extended into its second year. 

Zevco - A London and Belgium based corporation that produces fuel cells, our work for Zevco included an American launch in New York that garnered substantive press coverage internationally.  We arranged for a press event with London cab, fitted with fuel cells, and Judd Hirsh, star of the television series Taxi.

House Beautiful / Hearst Magazines - We worked to publicize the Houses for the Next Millennium series.  Features appeared in the AP, The New York Times and editors were booked on several national and local television programs.

Spectacolor - For this Times Square based sign company, we helped launch the AT&T and Hertz signs on the Marriott Marquis Hotel.

Marsh & McLennan - We represented the Entertainment and Leisure division for the world's largest insurance broker on a project basis for 15 years.

Christopher Radko -  In addition to enormous television, newspaper and magazine coverage, we arranged for Radko, the premiere designer of Christmas ornaments internationally, to design the television sets of Today and Donny and Marie for the holidays.  We brokered two appearances on the NBC morning show and three on Donny and Marie.  We helped arranged charity tie-ins, personal appearances, special projects (such as creating gazebos beside the tree in Rockefeller Plaza) and more.

Metropolis Magazine - KSA recently did consumer and trade publicity for the bible of design and architecture.

Sports

Brian Boitano - Olympic Gold Medallist Brian Boitano has been a client since 1988.  We represent his personal public relations interests in conjunction with all sponsors, appearances and performances.  Most recently we publicized his 9th NBC New Year's Day special, the  Brian Boitano Skating Spectacular.

White Canvas Productions - A television production company, White Canvas has produced more than a dozen figure skating specials with major skating and popular music talent on NBC, USA Networks and TNT.  For these specials we arranged coverage on Today, Good Morning America, Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, The New York Times, USA Today, AP,  The Los Angeles Times, TV Guide, People, Entertainment Weekly and Access Hollywood, among others.

Michelle Kwan - We were charged with developing the public image for figure skater Michele Kwan as she prepared to compete in the 1998 Olympic games.  Kwan was featured on the covers of Sports Illustrated, People, TV Guide and Newsweek, and more.  

Champions on Ice  - For several years we represented the national arena touring show, which played in dozens of primary and secondary markets.  The tour featured some of the leading Olympic, World and national figure skating champion.  National placements included The Rosie O'Donnell Show, Today, Good Morning America, Live with Regis & Kathie Lee, The Late Show with David Letterman, People, AP, The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Chicago Tribune, among others.

Gymnastics Tour - Emerging from the 1996 Barcelona summer Olympics were the Magnificent Seven.  Six of the gymnasts went on a national arena tour which we represented.  One particular coup was a feature in the New York Times Magazine. Based on the controversy of six out of the seven girls touring, our crisis management skills were put to great use.

Paul Hamm - As the star of the 2004 Rock & Roll Gymnastics Championship Tour, we helped guide he Gold Medal winning gymnast through the controversy that erupted out of the Athens Olympic Games.
